Ingredients
  

  • 400 g spaghetti
  • 6–8 cloves garlic thinly sliced
  • cup extra virgin olive oil use high-quality for best flavor
  • ½–1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water reserve before draining
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese optional

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook spaghetti until al dente.
  • Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining the spaghetti.
  • Thinly slice the garlic cloves evenly.
  • Heat olive oil in a wide pan over medium-low heat.
  • Add garlic and cook gently until lightly golden.
  • Stir in red pepper flakes and cook briefly to release flavor.
  • Add drained pasta directly into the pan.
  • Pour in some reserved pasta water and toss to combine.
  • Season with salt, black pepper, and parsley.
  • Serve immediately with optional Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Cook garlic gently to avoid bitterness. Reserve pasta water to create a silky sauce.
