Ingredients

Butter and Onions

  • 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 medium yellow onion thinly sliced

Sliders

  • 1 package Hawaiian rolls 16 Ounces
  • 10 slices bacon cooked
  • 1 pound turkey deli, thinly sliced or shredded leftover turkey
  • 6 slices white cheddar cheese

Seasonings

  • 3 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons dried onion minced
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 2 teaspoons parsley fresh, minced
  • cooking spray

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet over medium high heat, add 2 tablespoons of the melted butter and the sliced onions. Sauté until caramelized.
  • Slice your sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise and place the bottom half into your baking dish.
  • Add the bacon in an even layer on top of the bottom rolls.
  • Next, add a layer of the turkey (shredded leftover turkey or deli-sliced turkey), followed by the caramelized onions and finally the cheese.
  • Place the top bun layer back onto the sliders.
  • Mix together the melted butter, maple syrup, dried onion and poppy seeds. Generously brush across the tops of the slider buns.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the sliders are cooked through and the cheese is melted.
  • Optional: Put the cooked sliders under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes to brown the top of the rolls.
  • Garnish the tops of the warm sliders with the fresh minced parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Feel free to substitute the cheese for your favorite type. These sliders can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking. Pairs well with a side of coleslaw or potato chips.
