  • 6 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ¾ cup uncooked long-grain white rice
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • black pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a medium skillet or saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they soften.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and uncooked rice, cooking for 1 minute.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, milk, and salt, then stir gently.
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 15 to 18 minutes until the rice is tender.
  • Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan, parsley, and black pepper.
  • Add a splash of milk if needed for extra creaminess.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

For extra creaminess, add more milk before serving. Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option. Best served fresh but can be reheated with added milk.
